Did you know there is aa porn version of A Clockwork Orange. The title is Clockwork Orgy. I haven’t seen it for a while — though I think I have a copy somewhere — but as I recall it sort of follows the plot of A Clockwork Orange. It opens in the Korova Milk Bar with Alex and her droogs posed like Alex and his droogs. The old bum gets a very different treatment than a stomping. The ending is straight out of the Kubrick film with a politician feeding Alex in the hospital then posing for the camera with a big thumbs up.

  2. This was a different episode which I greatly appreciated. I am a bit squeamish around violence but gave this a “go.” It was worth the effort but your dialogue brought a deeper understanding of the work. I have to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for adding a “BLADE” episode next month (with “Constantine” – great pairing). My gratitude for what I consider the greatest podcast in North America!

On the subject of Pauline Kael’s review, it’s worth reading Andrew Sarris’ response to that (as well as contemporary criticism of other controversial movies of the time):
